Breakthrough Results with a Business Coach

Hello Reader,

One of my coaching clients surpassed her revenue goal last month. She started August believing that her $30k goal was impossible, and wanted to avoid thinking about it. But every week, we reviewed that goal, and renewed her commitment to (attempting to) achieve it.

A few times, she said, "There's no way I can do that." She didn't want to keep repeating her commitment to achieve $30,000 in revenue in one month, but I reminded her that her commitment was not to achieve this goal. Her commitment was to attempt to achieve her goal.

By the end of the month, she surpassed her goal by more than $15k, earning a total of $45,000 for the month. Now, she's set a revenue goal double the size of last month's goal. Every week, we talk about that goal during her coaching call.

This is the biggest benefit to having a business coach - someone else keeps you accountable to goals that seem outlandish, until you attain them. Many of my clients are entrepreneurs looking to grow their business, but I am also currently working with corporate leaders preparing for big presentations, and managers who want to make their team meetings more engaging and interactive.

Have you ever wondered about why a professional mentor is called a 'coach' ? The etymology is interesting. Learn about it in this 3-minute video:

I've been coaching experts and entrepreneurs for a number of years. Here is some feedback from a few of my previous coaching clients:

I'm opening my calendar for a few more coaching clients in October. If you'd like to see some dramatic results in your life or your business, I invite you to a free, no-obligation discovery call.

Q: What is a Discovery Call?

A: This is a coaching call about you, what you want to achieve, the challenges getting in your way, and the options you have to overcome them.

Q: Is this a sales call?

A: No. You cannot hire me during a Discovery Call. If you want to work with me as a coach, we will need to schedule a second call to discuss my coaching programs.

Q: Why is this call free?

A: I find it is best to give my future clients a sample of what it's like working with me, so they know what to expect. One of the chapters in my book, Marketing Yourself, talks about the benefits of free consultations.

Statistically, 30% of my free consultations and Discovery Calls turn into paid work. So I'm happy to share my time with people, even if it doesn't turn into anything right away. I often get referrals from people who have never hired me, and they refer me because they've experienced my work.

Q: What if you've been my coach before?

A: This invitation is open, for both new and old coaching clients. If we've worked together in the past, I'd be happy to get on a call with you to catch up, and offer you some free advice.

Q: How do we get started?

A: Fill out an application, to share some information with me, so I can come to the conversation prepared with ideas. Then, my systems will let you schedule a Zoom call on my scheduling calendar. It only takes 5-10 minutes to fill this out:

Hello Reader, In 24 hours, I'll be going live with the Authorverse community to teach my newest workshop, '5 Business Models Behind Books.' Here are the 5 books I will be using to illustrate the 5 business models: (Yes, I am using my own book as an example. Teacher's prerogative. 😁) In working with so many experts and entrepreneurs over the past decade, I have been on the back-end of many businesses that rely on a published book as the cornerstone of their positioning. 5 business models behind books

Hello Reader, How do authors build a thriving business around their published work? Spoiler alert: it's not by selling more books. In my work over the past decade with authors, coaches, and speakers, I have been behind-the-scenes of multiple 6- and 7-figure businesses. I've seen how their businesses are structured, developed the commercial offers they make to their audience, and learned firsthand what's working, and what's a waste of time. Next week, I'm teaching a free workshop for the...

hero-villain

Hello Reader, In every story, there are three characters: the hero, the villain, and the victim. A century ago, American film was born out of the vaudeville scene. The main storytelling medium at the time was melodrama, when the characters were almost comically basic. Think of the mustachio-twirling villain, tying a damsel in distress to the train tracks, being thwarted by a gun-toting hero, and you have all the basics you need to tell a compelling story: setting, conflict, and characters....
