A Team Holiday Party ๐ŸŽ… Ho-Ho-Hosted Online

Hello Reader,

You probably already know that Iโ€™m a big fan of play.

Not as an escape from work, but as a way to do better work.

As I wrote in my 16-page ebook Gamify Your Work, Dr Jason Fox said, โ€˜People donโ€™t play games to avoid work. People play games to engage in well-designed work.โ€™

As we approach the end of the year, many businesses are turning their thoughts to a year-end holiday party.

The easy way to do a holiday party is:

  • rent a venue,
  • have an open bar,
  • hire a DJ, and
  • let everybody dance.

For many in-person teams, this is a solid formula. It lets everyone get together, complain about the boss in whispers underneath loud music, and blow off steam together. This provides a temporary facsimile of a relationship, but no real connection.

What about if you have a distributed team, with people who live in multiple locations? How can you help people feel celebrated, and improve the culture before everyone takes off for the holidays?

We can Ho-Ho-Host a Virtual Zoom Games Party.

My virtual workshops are already interactive and engaging, when Iโ€™m teaching topics like productivity and digital marketing.

When I host a Fun & Games session on Zoom, all we do is have a great time. I can help your team deepen their connection, culture, and collaboration through the power of play.

Feedback from recent workshops and playshops includes:

"Caelan is the master of engaging sessions. I loved his humour, playfulness and knowledge. A winning combination!" - Ro Gorell
"It was 8 a.m. in my place and I woke up, I was attentive and I felt totally immersed and I am not a morning person ;)" - Paul Handler
"Such an engaging session with Caelan Huntress. A seasoned pro in how to create and host engaging online sessions." - Fran Cormack

Hello Reader, In 24 hours, I'll be going live with the Authorverse community to teach my newest workshop, '5 Business Models Behind Books.' Here are the 5 books I will be using to illustrate the 5 business models: (Yes, I am using my own book as an example. Teacher's prerogative. ๐Ÿ˜) In working with so many experts and entrepreneurs over the past decade, I have been on the back-end of many businesses that rely on a published book as the cornerstone of their positioning. The 5 business models I...

5 business models behind books

Hello Reader, How do authors build a thriving business around their published work? Spoiler alert: it's not by selling more books. In my work over the past decade with authors, coaches, and speakers, I have been behind-the-scenes of multiple 6- and 7-figure businesses. I've seen how their businesses are structured, developed the commercial offers they make to their audience, and learned firsthand what's working, and what's a waste of time. Next week, I'm teaching a free workshop for the...

hero-villain

Hello Reader, In every story, there are three characters: the hero, the villain, and the victim. A century ago, American film was born out of the vaudeville scene. The main storytelling medium at the time was melodrama, when the characters were almost comically basic. Think of the mustachio-twirling villain, tying a damsel in distress to the train tracks, being thwarted by a gun-toting hero, and you have all the basics you need to tell a compelling story: setting, conflict, and characters....
